Meg Bergeson DNP, ACNP-BC, FNP-BC , RNFA
Meg Bergeson DNP, is a board certified Acute and family Nurse Practitioner who has worked alongside Dr. Meltzer since 2011. She began her career in 1996 and has experience in pediatrics, burn, obstetrics and gynecology as well as emergency and trauma medicine.
In addition to her extensive clinical experience, Meg also has an outstanding academic background that includes 2 bachelors degrees (a BS in psychology and nursing), a masters of nursing and a doctorate of nursing where most of her work revolved around transgender medicine and post-operative care.
Meg’s combination of clinical education and experience provide a strong academic foundation for the continuing care of her patients. She currently follows all of Dr. Meltzer & Dr. Ley’s patients during hospitalization and provides post-operative follow up.

While going through transition it is recommended that patients present a letter from a therapist supporting Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT).
(HRT consults with Meg need to have a therapy letter from a mental health professional that specializes in gender dysphoria referring them for HRT)
Meg will meet with you to discuss any health issues you may have while reviewing the Callen-Lorde Hormone Protocol she uses to treat her patients. Appointments can be made for hormone replacement and aesthetic procedures on most Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Meg has been administering Botox injections since 2002. It is a simple 5 to 10 minute treatment that can temporarily smooth mild to moderate wrinkles in the facial area. She also uses it to treat hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating under the armpits). Discomfort and downtime is minimal.
